Lasair - Iomairt Ghàidhlig an Eilein Sgitheanaich.  The Iomairt works throughout Skye and implements projects through Chomunn na Gàidhlig, Fèisean nan Gàidheal, Highland Council, Bòrd na Gàidhlig and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. With six Gaelic units and the expectation of a Gaelic School in Portree, the need for community projects that grow the language is clear. CnaG's involvement in the Iomairt is in three main areas:

ÒigridhCo-ordination - Bringing together organisations to implement projects as well as reviewing and recording progress.

Promotion of Gaelic Medium Education - in partnerhsip with Comann nam Pàrant Nàiseanta, Highland Council and Bòrd na Gàidhlig, we support the Parental Advisory Scheme in Skye.

Young People- Projects such as the John Muir Award and Sradagan to provide opportunities for young people to use Gaelic outwith the school.

Where resources allow, CnaG also delivers some projects to Gaelic learners and is involved in community events.

Community is at the heart of Lasair and regular partnership working takes place with organisations such as the Staffin Trust.
