Comunn na Gàidhlig (CnaG) is organising three weekend youth events offering the chance for some fun in the big city, on the snow and beside the sea. These events are open to young people from S1 to S4 and will take place in Glasgow, Rothiemurchus near Aviemore and in the Isle of Skye.
The first event takes place in Glasgow from the 30th of November to 2nd of December and involves all the fun that the city has to offer and opportunities to hit the shops for which Glasgow is well known.
With the winter fast approaching CnaG hopes for a lot of snow for a winter sports weekend with skiing high on the agenda. The group will stay at Badaguish from the 15th to 17th of March. Located halfway between Aviemore and CairnGorm, Badaguish lodges are very nice and cosy.
Welcoming the warmth of the spring, the third event will based at the Torrin Centre on Skye from the 19th to 22nd of April. Featuring outdoor activities such as mountain walking there may also be an opportunity to visit Loch Coruisk.
These events will bring young people together from throughout Scotland in an informal and fun atmosphere lead by CnaG staff. Every young person will undoubtedly make new friends.
The low costs of these events (£70 for Glasgow and Torrin and £80 for Badaguish including travel) means that young people can have a great time at low cost and all in a supportive Gaelic environment. CnaG's team is experienced in events such as these and will be on hand to support and encourage all everyone.
Donald Morris from Comunn na Gàidhlig said that these events will be great fun and an excellent way of using Gaelic outside the classroom. "We advise early booking for these events as places are limited. Fun with new friends is our main objective!"
