An Lòchran, Glasgow’s Gaelic Arts organisation and TAG Theatre Company are co-producing a unique new Gaelic drama project for young women (16 – 25 yrs). This is being delivered through partnerships with the National Theatre of Scotland (connecting communities) and Comunn na Gàidhlig, The National Gaelic Development Agency.
An open workshop will be held at the Citizen’s Theatre, GLASGOW on Saturday 9 th September at 2pm. This will be followed by 12 weeks of workshops on Tuesday evenings commencing 19 th September. There will be an opportunity to perform a new piece of drama at the Circle Studio at the Citizens Theatre in January 2007 and the performance will be preceded by rehearsals in mid January.

According to the Gaelic Arts Officer for Glasgow City Council “This project ensures that An Lòchran continue to make relevant connections with the professional art sector (TAG theatre and the National Theatre for Scotland) in Glasgow, linking creative expertise with Gaelic language Development. This new piece of professional drama and youth programme means that Gaelic Arts can continue to be presented in a contemporary and forward thinking context”
