Tagradh gu Comataidh Eòrpach agus Dhàimhean Taobh a-muigh Pàrlamaid na h-Alba

20mh Giblean 2006

Tha Comunn na Gàidhlig air iarraidh dòigh co-òrdanachaidh agus maoineachaidh gus cuir air adhart agus leasachadh iomairtean compàirteachaidh dha Alba agus Èirinn le buannachdan eacanomaigeach, sòisealta agus cultarail.

Anns an tagradh gu Comataidh Eòrpach agus Dhàimhean Taobh a-muigh Pàrlamaid na h-Alba a tha a' gabhail os làimh Rannsachadh a-steach do chomasachd prògram co-obrachaidh eadar Alba agus Èirinn, tha CnaG ag ràdh: Bu chòir togail agus gabhail ris an eisimpleir a th'air a chruthachadh mur thràth tro Iomairt Chlauim Chille a-thaobh ceangalan cànan agus cultar. Ghabhadh seo a dhèanamh, mar eisimpleir, le bhith stèidheachadh Roinn Fiosrachaidh Ceangalan Cheilteach gus fiosrachadh, treòrachadh agus comharrachadh tùsan maoineachaidh do bhuidhnean a tha airson pàirt a ghabhail ann am pròiseactan Albannach/Èireannach. Anns an tagradh tha CnaG a' comharrachadh eisimpleirean de cheangalan a th'ann mur thràth leithid Iomairt Chaluim Chille Ìle, Leabhar Mòr na Gàidhlig, prògraman rèidio agus telebhisean agus na ceangalan eadar Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Comhairle Sgìre an Iùir agus Mhùrn agus Siorrachd Chlàr, agus cuideachd Sgeama Ceumnachaidh ChnaG a tha a' toirt a-steach greis gnìomhachais le luchd fastaidh Èireannach agus Deasbadan Gàidhlig / Gaeilge eadar sgoiltean. Le structar nas fhoirmeil agus comas air maoineachadh dha rèir, ghabhadh na ceanglaichean seo a bhith air an leudachadh gu mòr airson buannachd Èirinn agus Alba.

Submission to the Scottish Parliament's European and External Relations Committee

20th April 2006

Comunn na Gàidhlig has called for a co-ordinating and funding mechanism to promote the concept of promoting and developing joint initiatives which would be of economic, social and cultural benefits for Scotland and Ireland.

In it's submission to the Scottish Parliament's European and External Relations Committee who are undertaking an Inquiry into the possibility of a programme of co-operation between Scotland and Ireland, CnaG states that: The model which has already been established through Iomairt Chaluim Chille in relation to language and cultural links should be built on and adopted. This could be done, for example, by establishing a Celtic Links Information Bureau to provide information, advice and identify funding sources to organisations wishing to participate in joint Scottish/Irish projects. In it's submission CnaG highlights examples of current links including Iomairt Chaluim Chille, Leabhar Mòr na Gàidhlig, radio and TV co-productions and the links between Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Newry and Mourne Council and Clare County Council and CnaG's own Graduate Placement Scheme which involves work experience with Irish employers and schools' exchanges for Gaelic/Gaeilge Debates. With a more formalised structure and access to adequate funding these links could be considerably extended for the mutual benefit of Ireland and Scotland.
