Foillseachadh do na meadhanan

22mh Ògmhios 2006

“Feumaidh coimhearsnachdan taic fhaighinn agus feumaidh daoine òga a bhith air am brosnachadh ma tha Gàidhlig gu bhith beò mar chànan coimhearsnachd”. Sin a thuirt Màiri Bremner, Cathraiche Comunn na Gàidhlig (CnaG) aig foillseachadh do na meadhanan ann an Inbhir Nis an-diugh (Diardaoin 22 An t-Ògmhios)

A’ toirt mìneachadh air atharraichean air Bòrd Stiùiridh ChnaG agus air structar na buidhne thuirt Màiri Bremner gun d’ rinneadh na h-atharraichean sin mu choinneimh dleastanas ChnaG gus taic a thabhann aig ìre coimhearsnachd.

"Bhon a chaidh Bòrd na Gàidhlig a stèidheachadh agus Achd na Gàidhlig a thoirt a-steach na bu tràithe sa bhliadhna bidh CnaG ag amais nas motha air taic a thoirt do choimhearsnachdan agus do dh’ iomairtean. Tha sinn air adhartas a dhèanamh mar thà le bhith a’ cruthachadh chothroman do dh’oileanaich agus luchd ceumnachaidh aig am bheil Gàidhlig gus obair Ghàidhlig fhaighinn anns na coimhearsnachdan far an deach an togail, buannachd dha na coimhearsnachdan, na daoin’ òga agus an luchd-fastaidh ionadail. Air an t-samhradh seo tha 45 oileanach againn ag obair tro chòig sgeamaichean eadar-dhealaichte air feadh Alba, ann an Ìle, Colbhasa, a’ Chomraich, agus Port Righ cho math ri Glaschu, Inbhir Nis agus na h-Eileanan Siar.
Tha sinn an dòchas togail air na Sgeamaichean luachmhor seo agus an leudachadh gus barrachd chothroman a thoirt do dhaoine òga agus do choimhearsnachdan ionadail airson an cànan a bhrosnachadh agus taic a thoirt seachad aig ìre ionadail. Bidh sinn cuideachd a’ cur air adhart sgeamaichean a bhios a’ toirt seachad taic agus comhairle do bhuidhnean a tha airson soidhnichean da-chànanach a chuir air chois, sgeama ùr a tha a’ tabhann taic ionmhasail do bhuidhnean Òigridh Ghàidhlig leithid Sradagan gus cuideachadh a thoirt dhaibh luchd-stiùiridh fhastadh. Tha sinn cuideachd toilichte a bhith a’ cur air bhog ar làrach-lìn ùr, a chaidh ùrachadh dhuinn le Reefnet, agus tha sinn an dòchas gum bi e na chuideachadh gus fiosrachadh a libhrigeadh dhan phobaill air na tha sinn an sàs ann.

Media launch

22nd June 2006

“Communities need to be supported and young people need to be given every encouragement if Gaelic is to survive as a community language”. This was stated by Màiri Bremner, Chair of Comunn na Gàidhlig (CnaG) at a media launch in Inverness today (Thursday 22 June).

Explaining recent changes in CnaG’s Board membership and internal structure, Màiri Bremner said that these changes were made to reflect CnaG’s role in providing support at community level.

“With the establishment of Bòrd na Gàidhlig and the introduction of the Gaelic Act earlier this year, CnaG’s future role will be focussed more on community support and initiatives. We have already made significant progress in creating opportunities for Gaelic speaking students and graduates, to get Gaelic jobs in their home communities, thus benefiting the communities, the young people and local employers. This summer
we have 45 placements on five different schemes throughout Scotland, in places such as Islay, Colonsay, Applecross, Portree as well as Glasgow, Inverness and the Western Isles. We hope to build on these valuable Schemes and extend them to provide more opportunities for young people and local communities to promote and support the language at local level. We will also be promoting schemes which give support and advice to interested organisations wishing to erect bilingual signage, a new scheme which provides financial assistance to Gaelic youth organisations such as Sradagan to help the employ paid leaders. We are also pleased to launch our new web-site, which has been re-vamped for us by Reefnet, and which we hope will assist in informing the public of our various activities
.
