Bha na duaisean air an toirt seachad le Karen Whitefield, Ball Pàrlamaid Albannach an Sgìre, Murchadh Moireasdan, Manaidsear Brosnachaidh a' Mhòid, An Comunn Gàidhealach agus an Comhairliche Seumas Louge, Neach-gairm aig Seirbheisean Coimhearsnachd, Comhairle Siorrachd Lannraig a Tuath.

Bha na duaisean airson Comataidh an Fhèis, na Cròileagain ann an Comar nan Allt agus Àrd Ruigh, Buidheann Dhisathairne, Sradagan, am Buidheann Còmhraidh, Taigh-cluiche Òigridh Gàidhlig, Fòram an Luchd-Ionnsachaidh, Clasaichean Gàidhlig Inbheach ann an Àrdruigh, Comar nan Allt, Kilsaidh agus Tobair na Màthair.
Tha Sìne NicIlleathain, Manaidsear Leasachaidh Sgìreil, Ceann a Deas Alba aig Comunn na Gàidhlig na neach-teagaisg aig clas oidhche ann an Àrd Ruigh.

Cuideachd an làthair bha Dòmhnall Màrtainn, Ceannard Chomunn na Gàidhlig a ghabh pàirt nas tràithe air an latha ann an coinneamh Plana Cànan Siorrachd Lannraig a Tuath còmhla ri luchd-obrach Comhairle Siorrachd Lannraig a Tuath agus riochdairean bho bhuidhnean Gàidhlig eile anns an sgìre.

A bharrachd air na duaisean gan toirt seachad bha clann bho Bun Sgoil Chondobhrait a' seinn, ag innseadh sgeulachdan agus a' cluich ionnsramaidean ciùil le Màiri Nic a' Mhaoilein gan stiùireadh. Bha Còisir Gàidhlig Chomar nan Allt a' seinn le Màiri NicIlleathain gan stiùireadh.

Se oidhche fìor mhath a bha seo agus chrìochnaich an oidhche le biadh agus deoch.

Awards in North Lanarkshire

These pictures were taken at the Gaelic Initiative Awards in North Lanarkshire on Friday 2nd June in Airdrie. The awards were presented by Karen Whitefield - the area's MSP, Murdo Morrison – Mod Promotions Manager, An Comunn Gàidhealach and Councillor James Louge – Community Services Spokesperson, North Lanarkshire Council.

The prizes were for the Fèis Committee, the Cròileagain in Cumbernauld and Airdrie, the Saturday group, Sradagan, the Conversation group, The Gaelic Youth Theatre Group, Gaelic Learners Forum, Adult Gaelic Classes in Airdrie, Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Motherwell.
Sìne MacLean, South of Scotland Area Development Manager at Comunn na Gàidhlig, has been teaching the evening class in Airdrie.

Also in attendance was Donald Martin, Chief Executive of Comunn na Gàidhlig who had earlier participated in North Lanarkshire Council's Gaelic Language Plan meeting with council staff and representatives of other Gaelic organisations in the area.

As well as the awards being presented there were children from Condorrat Primary School singing, telling stories and playing musical instruments with Mairi MacMillan conducting them. Cumbernauld Gaelic Choir were singing with Mary MacLean conducting them.

It was a successful evening and the night was rounded off with a buffet and drinks.
