Sgoilearan à Lanraig a Tuath sa Ghàidhealtachd

Thàinig sgoilearan bho Àrdsgoil Greenfaulds (Lanraig a Tuath) gu Outward Bound Loch Iall faisg air a' Ghearasdan.  B' e seo an ceathramh cùrsa dhan sgoil 's le taic bho Chomunn na Gàidhlig (CnaG), ghabh na sgoilearan pàirt ann an gnìomharan leithid Sreap, Na Ropaichean Àrda, Am Balla agus eile.

Choisich a' bhuidheann gu Peathan Meadhanach far an do dh'fhuirich iad ann an teantaichean a-muigh airson oidhche.  Ged a bha an tìde glè bhlàth, thog na sgoilear gach pìos uidheamachd ann an baga-droma as aonais taic sam bith.

A bharrachd air gnìomharan taobh a-muigh, chleachd na sgoilearan modalan-measaidh gus adhartas an sgioba a thomhas.

Chaidh an cùrsa a chumail tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig aig gach ìre.

Às dèidh cupa teatha, chuir na sgoilearan na teantaichean aca suas.

Thòisich Iomairt Cùrsaichean Fèin-leasachaidh ann an 2002.  Bhon uairsin, tha iomadach buidheann air pàirt a ghabhail annta 's na cùrsaichean seo a' tairgsinn chothroman ionmhalta Gàidhlig a chleachdadh gu neo-fhoirmeil.   Tha CnaG toilichte taic a chumail ris an iomairt seo le stiruireadh 's luchd-obrach agus thathar an dùil cùrsaichean a bharrachd a chumail ann an 2006.

North Lanarkshire pupils in the Highlands

greenfaulds06Pupils from Greenfaulds High School (North Lanarkshire) recently came to Outward Bound Loch Eil near Fort William.  This was the fourth occasions and with support from Comunn na Gàidhlig (CnaG), the pupils took part in activities such as Rock Climbing, The High Ropes Course, The Wall and others.

In addition to outdoor activities, the students also used review models to examine team performance.

The group went on an overnight expedition to Peanmeanach where they stayed in tents for the night.  Although the weather was very warm, the students carried all their equipment in rucksacks without any support.

The entire course was conducted through the medium of Gaelic at every level.

The Personal Development courses run by CnaG and Outward Bound started in 2002.  Since then, many different groups have taken part in these innovative courses which offer a unique opportunity to use Gaelic in an informal setting.  CnaG is proud to support the initiative with advice and staff input.  Further courses are planned for 2006.
