“Comunn na Gàidhlig (and Spòrs Gaidhlig) have many years of experience in running popular Gaelic language events for young people. However tight resources mean places can be limited, and demand can be very high.
We are often told by parents, and children, that they want to meet other young Gaelic speakers from across Scotland. If we do not try and balance demand when camp places are being sold our experience tells us that the camps can be dominated by children from one or other location.
This is why, for some key events, we will initially allocate places on a geographical basis – to try and ensure a geographical spread of participation, and the best experience for all who attend.
Where geographically-allocated places remain unsold 6 weeks before any event we will remove the location restriction and offer places to those on our waiting list in chronological order.”
